Editorial Staff Profiles

Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level II or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Preferably, formal training and experience in scholarly publishing and academic editing.

f.      Knowledge of editorial, publishing, and dissemination technologies used by Terra Latinoamericana, including the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, graphic design software, information technologies, and social media management.

g.    Knowledge of copyright regulations and scholarly publishing licenses.

h.    Knowledge of national and international Open Access policies.

i.       Basic knowledge of graphic design principles.

j.       Knowledge of the editorial style, citation standards, and publication guidelines of Terra Latinoamericana.

k.     Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

 

Associate Editors / Section Editors

Associate Editors (Section Editors) are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level I or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

 

Co-Editor

The Co-Editor is expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level II or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

 

Managing Editor

The Managing Editor is expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level I or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Preferably, formal training and experience in scholarly publishing and academic editing.

f.      Knowledge of the editorial management technologies employed by Terra Latinoamericana, including the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, publishing software, information technologies, and digital communication tools.

g.    Knowledge of national and international Open Access policies.

h.    Basic knowledge of graphic design.

i.       Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

j.       Demonstrable experience in the comprehensive management of the editorial workflow, including originality review using specialized software, coordination with authors, reviewers and editors, monitoring of editorial timelines and ensuring compliance with editorial policies.

 

Statistical Editors

Statistical Editors are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in Statistics or a closely related discipline.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in Statistics or a related scientific field.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level I or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

Technical Editors

Technical Editors are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level I or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Knowledge of the editorial, publishing, and dissemination technologies employed by Terra Latinoamericana, including the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, graphic design software, information technologies, and social media management.

f.      Knowledge and experience in technical editing, scientific copyediting, and quality control of manuscripts accepted for publication in Terra Latinoamericana.

g.    Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

 

Language Editors

Language Editors are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in Modern Languages, Translation Studies, Applied Linguistics, English Studies, or a related discipline.

b.    At least a bachelor’s degree in modern Languages or a related field.

c.     Desirable proficiency in at least two of the languages in which Terra Latinoamericana publishes.

 

Members of the Peer Review Committee

Members of the Peer Review Committee are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at the Candidate level or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

 

Members of the National Editorial Board

Members of the National Editorial Board are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI), preferably at Level II or higher.

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Extensive research experience.

 

Members of the International Editorial Board

Members of the International Editorial Board are expected to possess the following qualifications:

a.     Academic background in disciplines related to the thematic scope of Terra Latinoamericana.

b.    A Ph.D. degree in a scientific field related to the journal's principal subject areas.

c.     Recognition within a national or international research evaluation or recognition system equivalent in prestige and academic standards to the National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (SECIHTI).

d.    Authorship of scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals.

e.     Extensive research experience and international recognized expertise in their respective fields of research.
